This article includes several recommendations for all Hata users to implement when using their Hata account. The recommendations are:
Use a unique email address and password for your account
You are recommended to input a combination of alphanumeric and symbols to your password to increase the complexity of your password. Password managers such as LastPass or KeePass can help you easily track and create more complex, secure passwords.
Enable 2FA on your Hata account
2FA adds an extra layer of security to your account in the event your password is compromised. Please refer to "How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication" under Account Functions section in the FAQ for more information.
Always check the domain address you are visiting
Many phishing sites try to mimic Hata’s domain or website to trick victims into entering their personal and sensitive information. Please ensure you are visiting the real site.
Do NOT click links or open unknown attachments in emails
Unless you are absolutely sure the email was sent by Hata, do not click links or open any attachments in emails.
Secure your email account and phone and use PGP.
Enable fingerprint, facial identification or passcode lock on your phone. Use a secure email provider and use 2FA for your email account. If possible, use PGP (Pretty Good Privacy)
Secure your computer
Do not install unnecessary software on your computer or softwares from unknown sources. Whenever possible, consider using a dedicated computer or partition for Hata and trading. We recommend installing Linux, Chrome, a password manager plugin and nothing else.
Subscribe to a good antivirus software and keep it updated
Secure your internet connection
Always use a wired connection whenever possible. If you prefer wireless connection, consider using a VPN and routing your traffic.
Please take note that this list is not exhaustive. Apart from the above, please exercise vigilance and constantly educate yourself about general online security. Hackers are always finding new ways to perform malicious attacks.
