Why Did My Crypto Send Fail?

Modified on Thu, 5 Feb at 5:16 PM

At Hata, we’re committed to keeping every crypto transaction secure, compliant, and seamless.
However, certain withdrawals may be rejected for regulatory or risk-related reasons.
Here are the most common causes and how to avoid them.

1. Incorrect Travel Rule Information

The Travel Rule requires exchanges like Hata to share sender and recipient information for crypto transfers between Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs).

Your withdrawal may be rejected if:

  • The counterparty VASP (the exchange or wallet provider you’re sending to) is selected incorrectly.

  • The beneficiary name does not match the verified name on the receiving platform.

For example, if you’re sending funds to your Binance account but select Bybit as the counterparty VASP—or if the name you provide doesn’t match your KYC name at Binance—the transaction may be rejected at the Travel Rule level by the receiving exchange.

Tips to avoid this:

  • Always select the correct receiving VASP (e.g. Bybit, Binance, Bitget, etc.) from the list.

  • Ensure the beneficiary name matches exactly with the name on the receiving account.

  • If you are sending to your own private wallet, select the “Private Wallet” category and choose the correct wallet name, such as MetaMask, Phantom, Trust Wallet, etc.

2. Risk or Compliance Screening

All withdrawal requests go through risk and compliance screening to ensure they meet regulatory and safety requirements.

Withdrawals may be rejected or delayed if:

  • The system detects potential compliance risks related to the transaction or the destination wallet.

  • The transaction appears unusual or requires additional verification (for example, large withdrawals, new wallet addresses, or irregular activity).

In these cases, our team may place the transaction under manual review to confirm its legitimacy and compliance before approval.

Tips to avoid this:

  • Withdraw only to trusted or verified wallets/exchanges.

  • Respond promptly to any verification or clarification requests from our team.

3. System or Network Issues

Occasionally, blockchain congestion or temporary maintenance by the network or a counterparty exchange may cause a withdrawal to fail.

These issues are usually temporary and can be retried once normal operations resume.

Tip:
If you experience a network error, wait a few minutes and try again once system conditions stabilize.
