What is the MATIC to POL Migration?

Hata’s Announcement on MATIC to POL 

Following Hata’s ‘Notice on MATIC to POL upgrade’ announcement on the 2nd of September 2024, Hata will support the migration of the token, Polygon (MATIC) to Polygon Ecosystem Token (POL). 

Please take note of the delisting and listing dates.

• Delisting Date (MATIC): September 10, 2024 03:00 (UTC)

• Listing Date (POL): September 13, 2024 10:00 (UTC)

What Do I Need to Do?

Your existing MATIC tokens in your Hata account will be automatically converted to POL in a 1:1 ratio. 

Before Migration 

(Before September 10, 2024 03:00 (UTC)):

• Users can buy/sell/send/receive MATIC as per usual on the Hata platform.

During Migration 

(September 10, 2024 03:00 (UTC) to September 13, 2024 10:00 (UTC)):

• Users are not required to perform any changes during the migration period. 

• In the meantime, Hata customers are advised not to make any MATIC or POL deposits or withdrawals on the Hata platform during the migration period. This is to prevent delays in confirmed transactions or loss of funds during the migration from MATIC to POL. 

After Migration 

(After September 13, 2024 10:00 (UTC):

• After the migration period has ended, your MATIC will be migrated to POL where you will be able to use your POL token on Hata as per usual.

• Deposits and withdrawals of MATIC will no longer be supported on the Hata platform.

Token Swap

• MATIC tokens will assume the ticker of POL tokens on Hata.

• All MATIC tokens will be swapped to POL at a ratio of 1 MATIC = 1 POL.

Instant Buy/Sell:

• MATIC will be delisted from the Hata Instant Buy/Sell on September 10, 2024 03:00 (UTC).

• POL will be listed on the Hata Instant Buy/Sell on September 13, 2024 10:00 (UTC).

Exchange:

• The MATIC/MYR pair will be delisted from the Hata’s Exchange on September 10, 2024 03:00 (UTC).

• All orders placed before September 10, 2024 03:00 (UTC) will be automatically cancelled by the Hata Team.

• The POL/MYR pair will be listed on the Hata Exchange on September 13, 2024 10:00 (UTC).

What exactly is the MATIC to POL migration?

Following Polygon Lab’s official announcement, MATIC has been upgraded to POL across the Polygon network. That means every transaction that takes place on Polygon PoS, will use POL as the native gas token. For more information, please refer to the Polygon Lab’s official announcement here.
