  1. What is Cards on Auto-Invest?

Cards on Auto-Invest allows you to automate crypto purchases using a debit or credit card based on a predefined schedule and investment amount.


  1. How do I set up a card for Auto-Invest?

Navigate to the Auto-Invest section in the Hata app, select “Add Card,” and follow the prompts to link your card securely.


  1. Can I use both debit and credit cards?

Hata Malaysia supports debit cards only.


  1. Is there a limit on how much I can invest using my card?

Yes, limits vary by card issuer and regulatory region. You can see the applicable limits during the setup of your auto-invest plan. The maximum limit is RM30,000 for Hata Malaysia.


  1. Are there any fees for using a card on Auto-Invest?

Hata charges fees when you perform an Auto-Invest with a card. The fees will be displayed on the confirmation page when you create an Auto-Invest plan. Additionally, your bank may apply transaction or currency conversion fees.


  1. Can I pause or cancel Auto-Invest with my card?

Yes. Auto-Invest plans can be paused, edited, or canceled at any time through the app.


  1. What happens if my card transaction fails or is declined?

You’ll be notified, and the scheduled investment will be skipped. You may update your card or retry the transaction.


There are several possible reasons:

  • Transaction declined: Your card cannot be used for this type of transaction. Please contact your local bank or try again with a different card.

  • Insufficient funds: Your card balance has insufficient funds. Please top up the balance or use another card. 

  • 3D Secure System Malfunction: Try again later or with a different card.

  • Transaction declined by the bank: Contact your local bank and request for the payment to be approved.

  • Bank Policy Reasons: Your local bank does not support cryptocurrency transactions. Please contact your bank for more information.


You can try to do the following:

  • Contact the bank and request for the payment to be approved.

  • Try again at a later time.

  • Use an alternative card.


  1. How do I remove a card from Auto-Invest?

Navigate to Auto-Invest in your Hata app or website, select funding method, and tap the delete icon. If the card is linked to an active plan, terminate the plan first.


  1. Is my card information secure?

Yes. Hata complies with PCI-DSS standards and uses encryption to secure all card data.


  1. What is the minimum Auto-Invest amount?

  • Hata Malaysia: 100 MYR per cryptocurrency


  1. What cryptocurrencies can I Auto-Invest in?

You can choose from all cryptocurrencies available on Hata. Visit the Hata Market Page for a full list.


  1. How do I create an Auto-Invest plan with Card?

Go to Auto-Invest → Select “Funding Method” → Select Your Active Card → Enter your plan name, amount, frequency, and crypto choices (up to 5) → Tap “Create Plan.”


  1. What can’t I add my credit card into my Hata Malaysia account?

Currently, only debit cards are supported in Hata Malaysia.


  1. Why can’t I add my card issued from overseas banks into my Hata Malaysia account?

Hata Malaysia only supports debit cards issued by domestic banks in Malaysia.


  1. Why was the final amount charged to my card more than my Auto-Invest amount?

Please contact your local bank for assistance. Your local bank might incur additional bank charges for online transactions. Hata does not charge additional fees on top of your Auto-Invest amount. All of Hata’s fees are displayed on the Auto-Invest plan creation and confirmation page.
